Book Arts workshop - An individual or collaborative group project
Children will have the opportunity to explore and experiment with a variety of media such as collage, digital imagery, drawing, painting, text and unusual yet simple book construction. Individuals will develop skills in creative problem solving whilst increasing their awareness and technical skills with 2D & 3D construction, drawing, mark making, colour and texture. *All Book Arts and Assemblage Box workshops will require an inclusion of specialist materials to be provided by the artist. Assemblage Box workshop - An individual or collaborative group project
Explore and experiment with the creative possibilities of combining 2D and 3D pieces in an Assemblage Box work. A mixture of materials and processes will be included to create a highly inventive and original piece of work. Children will develop their technical skills and increase their ability in creative problem solving and decision-making. *All Book Arts and Assemblage Box workshops will require an inclusion of specialist materials to be provided by the artist. Animation workshop - A collaborative group project
Create 2D and 3D sets and models from a variety of materials and processes. Individuals will learn how to create and evolve an animated video short complete with titles and credits. This process will include storyboards, set and model making, digital frame capture, sound and editing. *Animation projects depend on which software and equipment the school has available. Details can be discussed on request.
Drawing, collage and paper construction workshop - ‘Nature study’
An individual or collaborative group project
This workshop can be adapted to an ongoing school project or theme. Starting in sketchbooks and developing onto larger scale pieces, children will create relief collages using paper construction and mixed media. This workshop will provide an excellent introduction into developing observational skills and also creative exploration, mark making, colour, texture and surface pattern.
Multi-media Sculpture workshop - An individual or collaborative group project
Create exciting 3D pieces using found materials and/or purpose made objects. Starting with maquettes or 3D studies, Individuals will learn how to develop 3D form through a range of exploratory processes into larger scale pieces. Using materials such as card, paper, fabric, wood, plaster, wax, metal, and ready made found objects. This workshop will provide an excellent insight into creative construction and problem solving.
Each workshop will be tailored to suit individual groups and can be designed to fit a given theme or school project.
