professional artists bringing inspiration and creativity from the studio to the classroom
All Arteach artists offer drawing or information-gathering-workshops for you and your school. Each individual artist has their own drawing style, that they can deliver using various drawing techniques.
Julie Miles offers drawing or mark making workshops using charcoal or experimenting with various objects or tools. She may use found natural forms relating to a nature table (or a walk in the environment of the school), or show participants how to make paintbrushes from pan scourers or ribbons. Julie’s drawing workshops are designed to give the participants confidence in making marks with new materials and exploring new techniques, which often produce surprising results.
Marjan Wouda’s workshops have a strong drawing element to them and explore a variety of different media. Clay is used to produce small 3D sketches, while paper-rods, wire or withies lead to construct drawings in the air. These workshops can be used to inform a larger project or as stand alone as workshops with a fantastic use of materials you may not expect to use in the classroom.
Jaqueline Smith can offer fabulous drawing workshops exploring different techniques with a textile theme. Drawing on fabric with line, collage and paint, the participants will develop skills in sewing and fabric application, learning about shape, line and colour and, most importantly: having fun in the process.

We have been promising to do this for a while and better late than never but Arteach has expanded the membership by 3 new artists
Arteach member Julie miles has been working with youth groups and the Haworth Art Gallery over the summer to create ceramic sculptures inspired by the house itself.
